Today we saw the baby for the first time! We viewed baby for less than a minute because it was just to take quick measurements and, according to those measurements, the nurse said that my due date of October 19 is about right. The image came up right away on the monitor but baby was still a blobby, indistinct shape. Allan said at first that he couldn't tell where it was and then he said it looked like a grub. I heard Aidan say, "This is fun!" I was reading up on ultrasounds yesterday and I knew exactly where to look. Amniotic fluid shows up black. Baby should be within the black area. I saw baby's little heart beating and now I can't stop thinking about it...a tiny heart just pumping away. I couldn't help thinking, "I hope you're OK in there." I love this baby now.
