You can't see me but I'm letting out a big sigh of relief. Today was a long day. I spent five hours at Aidan's school doing volunteer work for this fundraiser called Santa's Workshop. There were 6 other Moms, plus me, and we spent the day making a bunch of Christmas items that the kids in the school will be purchasing as gifts for their family. I know that kids usually don't have much to spend and this fundraiser is a good thing in that it teaches them the importance of giving, but I feel bad because the items we crafted and put together were really cheap (and I mean in a swap meet sort of way). I'm guessing that it was the chairperson of this event, plus a few others, who came up with the gift ideas but when I signed up for the event I thought that we'd be making quality, hand-made crafts. Instead we made hand towel snowmen that would be useless as hand towels because we had to use glue on them. There were little gift bags filled with girls' makeup bought at a discount, meaning the makeup was old. We had to make little christmas light necklaces but we had to bead them onto that gold elastic used to tie presents with. I don't know...maybe I'm not getting it. I just feel like the kids' money is better spent on buying nicer things elsewhere than to have them buy cheap stuff just so the school can make a little cash.

I'm still waiting on my computer to be set up so I can finally get back to normal. At least Aidan finally has his own desk, even if it is still big for him. I'll post a picture of my new desk when I get the chance.

All day I had been thinking about how much I love my little family. I'm going to go hug them now.
