    GOOD NIGHT, AIDAN
Ever since Aidan was about two years old, going to sleep has never been something he's done voluntarily. I remember those times...before I turned the lights off, he knew the signal for sleepy-time was when I took off my glasses. He would cry and say in his little two-year old way, "On glasses, lie down!", meaning he wanted me to put my glasses back on so even when we were lying down we didn't have to go to sleep.

Yesterday he cried for about five minutes - before brushing his teeth (lying on his stomach on the floor, covering his eyes with his hands), while brushing his teeth and afterwards. He doesn't like it when it's the end of the day. It took a small amount of coaxing and reassuring him that going to sleep is OK. He finally picked a book for me to read him which was Dr. Seuss's Sleep Book. When I was near the end of the book (because remember he doesn't like endings), he said, "I don't like this book. I want a wake-up book."
