I always look forward to Mother's Day! It's so special! This time, though, there was a bit of a hitch. Aidan and I woke up early so we could start getting everything together. Mother's Day was going to be celebrated at our house and Allan was going to cook up steaks and shrimp on the barbie. We came down the stairs, found Allan asleep on the couch and he woke up and said, "I can't walk." Another case of gout came on during the night and he was in lots of pain. Luckily, it was on his left foot and he was still able to drive himself to urgent care. He got Lola's walker so he could hop about on his good foot. Then he went to the Sav-on drive-thru pharmacy to get his prescription and, while he was there, he even went inside and bought me three magazines. That was really super-sweet. He could barely walk and he still thought about getting me something. So, the celebrations were moved to Allan's parents' house where Lee ended up BBQ'ing. We also had carnitas tacos, salad, and, for dessert, strawberry tart and leche flan. It was all delicious. Then we watched the Lakers game and their win capped off the day. I just want to say that we love our Moms! You watch out for us and care for us and we appreciate everything that you do.

Also, a BIG CONGRATULATIONS are in order for Jonathan who just got accepted to UCLA. I'm proud of you for following your dreams.
