Well, it seems as if I've underestimated how many people actually read my ramblings. It's really surprising to me when I'm told "Oh, yeah...we look at your website all the time!" but it's nice to know that someone other than myself is actually interested in what I write. I'm sending a shout-out to my Tita Lea: Thanks for your e-mail. I'm going to keep writing about my Dad then, even if it makes me cry sometimes. It's comforting to me that you're out there thinking about us.

The doctor called my Mom this morning with news that the swelling of my Dad's brain hasn't subsided and sometime later today they'll be putting a catheter at the left side of my Dad's head. I'm not exactly sure what this procedure will do but my Mom said that the doctor's trying to find out the cause of the swelling. My Mom also said that the doctor's voice didn't sound as chipper as before and, when she asked if my Dad isn't getting better, the doctor acknowledged her and said that it could be put that way. The doctor warned us from the very beginning that he wasn't going to sugar-coat his account of my Dad's condition and so right now it feels like I'm walking the line between keeping the faith and just dealing with it. OK, I have to stop now because I feel the waterworks coming on but I'm going to see him again this weekend and hopefully I'll have better news in the next few days.
