    Holiday Fun and Reminiscing

I've told this little bit several times already and we still crack up: Yesterday, Aidan didn't want to eat dinner so I let him go and he sat on the ottoman to watch Wheel of Fortune. His Grandpa said, "Aidan, just finish your chocolate milk." Aidan turned around, slammed his hand on the couch and yelled back, "I'm done eating for the rest of the day!" Grandpa almost choked from laughing.

I also introduced Aidan to the wonderful world of glue. I cut up a bunch of shapes from my scrap papers and gave him stickers and cotton balls and he made a few collages - one he made with my coaching because I wanted it to turn out neat. With the others I let him decide on everything and I just helped him with the glue. He had a good time and he even asked me today if we could do it again. Our next craft project is homemade Christmas cards so watch for them in the mail. If you're on our list, you'll be getting one-of-a-kind artwork from Aidan.

This afternoon I watched our videos of Aidan when he was a newborn. I guess I'm feeling sentimental again because Aidan will be 2 1/2 on the 22nd. When I was pregnant I kept hearing from other parents "Oh, they grow up so fast" and I would nod my head but couldn't relate to what they were saying. Well, now I know. Aidan is getting too heavy for me to carry for more than two minutes and, except for his extreme cuteness and nice smell, he's nothing like the baby he once was. I keep thinking "Geez, that was only 2 1/2 years ago." You really only get a very short amount of time to spend with your children as babies. I wonder now how much longer I'll have before he won't let me kiss his little feet anymore? Let me tell you when that day comes, it will be a very sad day. (sigh) Here's Aidan's neat snow-scene collage...
