Almost Home...
This is the rendering of the house that we're hoping to move into this coming June...
We've got our fingers crossed hoping everything works out. Needless to say, we are so excited and we feel so blessed.
The short story goes...We were looking for several weeks at the new housing developments in the Corona area and, almost each time we asked whether there were homes available, our high hopes were shot down. Our best chance was the next phase opening for the Orchard properties and we were on the priority list to be called, but unfortunately we were far, far down the list of 300 and there were only 36 homes. We weren't called and, when we visited the properties during the opening, there were so many people - the people who were lucky to have been called to take their choice of the available homes. We took their current pricelist and agreed on the one house we would buy if we had the chance. I can't speak for Allan but I felt dejected and started putting the idea of a new home out of my mind (at least for a few weeks). Then two days after, out of the blue, Allan called and asked whether there were any more homes left and, call it luck or fate or destiny, there was one home left. The sales person told Allan that since she received his call, she would give us first crack at the house. I did an inward scream, I couldn't breathe, I started to get too excited.... And after we got to the sales office and talked a while with the sales lady, she told us, "You know, there's this house that just became available. The person decided not to take it." Guess which one it was? It was the house. The exact one we were eyeing on the pricelist. Unbelievable.
