    Working Mom!?

Every day since we were gone this week, my prospective employer has called. I called back today, they made me an offer and I took it. Wow... You know how on interviews you sometimes get asked "What do you see yourself doing five years from now"? Five years ago I never would have thought that I would be in the situation that I'm in now. Five years ago Allan and I were married for less than a year. We were going on weekend road trips to San Francisco to look for an apartment and I was faced with the prospect of losing a job and having to transfer schools. Now I'm almost thirty. School is far from my mind and I have a two year old that I dearly love and that I'm going to be leaving almost everyday so I can make some money. But that's the way it goes, right? You can make plans for your future but nothing is set in stone. There are people and situations that will come across and literally alter the course of your life. Having Aidan did that for us.

Going back to work is such a big, momentous event for me because I always thought that I would stay home with my children. I'm thinking about what I'll miss in Aidan's life. Hopefully not very much. Hopefully...
