    Las Bigas and Fireworks

We just got back from a two and a half day stay at Las Vegas. It was a fun trip, but not that fun if you know what I mean. I lost $25. I don't know how much Allan lost because I just don't want to know. The weather was oven-hot and what made things worse was that Aidan and I were sick. My baby got his kicks though when we visited M and M World. He just loves the candy. He would eat 'em all day long if I let him. We bought him a mini dispenser, a cup, a placemat and a bag of blue and 3 purple m and m's. I know he's going to miss his Ninang May and Tita June because they're both so fun to be around. On a side note, we stayed one night at the Aladdin Hotel and Casino. We were happy with the accomodations and I really liked that they had a shopping mall within the hotel.

Today we went to Walnut High, sat in the middle of the football field and watched a fireworks display. We actually did the same thing last year, except this time we paid to see all of the action. It was very cool (both the weather and the fireworks). Aidan was scared in the beginning. He thought it was too loud so he pulled a pillowcase, which was his makeshift blankie, over himself. A local cable cameraman noticed him and took some footage. Poor Aidan - it'll be his TV debut and he's got a brown-striped pillowcase covering him from head to toe. I was able to pull it down for a few seconds though so maybe they'll edit it to show his cute face. After about a third of the show, Aidan got brave and decided that the fireworks were non-threatening. He clapped at the end and even kept asking afterwards "Where's the popping?" Next year I figure he shouldn't be scared at all.

We were disappointed that we missed buying tickets to this show called Kaboom at the Pomona Fairplex. It's a monster truck/fireworks show. Aidan would've really liked that. Hopefully they'll have it again next year and we can go. How was your July 4th?
