Well, no such luck with sleeping through the night. I did have to bust out the 9 oz. bottles though as Mia is now eating 6 oz. every four hours. Where does she put it all? She's so little! After she eats she feels so heavy.

I finally cleaned up my desk. It's not all the way clean but it's as good as it gets right now. These are what's taking up all the space.

I made 80 of these candy flowers for this weekend. Paper flowers can be just as pretty as the real thing. Nothing but tissue paper and tape. I still have to tie on the "leaves".

Mia slept at about 11:30 p.m. last night and this morning she woke up at 8:00 a.m. I was surprised that I woke up before her. Does this mean I will finally get a good night's rest from now on? I hope so!

Mia is almost 3 months old.
*She eats 5 ounces of formula every four hours.
*Our little girl has discovered her hands and will stare at them intently when she catches sight of them. She'll also suck on her fist.
*She blows bubbles with her saliva.
*She likes seeing herself in the mirror and will give herself a big smile.
*She can laugh but what she'll find funny is still unpredictable.
*When you speak or sing to her, she'll make sounds back at you, engaging you in a "conversation." She's very expressive.
*I love her long, pretty eyelashes, her tiny feet, and her super-kissable cheeks.
*I've been able to let her go without mittens because she hasn't been scratching at her face. Perhaps that means she has more control of her movements now.
*I like to watch her legs go while I change her diaper. They're always pulled up and she kicks nonstop.
*I like to watch her stretch.
*Most of all I like making her smile. I can't get enough of it.

Isn't this beeyootiful? This artwork is by Thomas Canty and it was used as a jacket illustration for a book called The White Raven, a novel about Tristan and Isolde (in this book her name was spelled Iseult). There are 600 limited edition prints of these and I happen to have #484. I didn't take very good care of it though. It's still in it's plastic with a cardboard backing but, unfortunately, as a result of our many moves it has a small tear along it's top and it's right corner has been squished. I just got it out of the garage because I was thinking of the Tristan and Isolde movie that's coming out next week. I just saw online that this print is selling for $100. Now that's not really much these days but I think I only paid $20 for it more than 10 years ago. That's why I didn't really pay much attention to it because I never thought it would actually accumulate in value. But I guess the real value of it is how much I love looking at it. I don't know why I never framed it. Well, now this print is safely inside and I'm getting a frame for it next weekend.

I also really want to see the
Tristan and Isolde movie. I hope it's good. I'm a sucker for historical/mythical romances and I don't want to miss this one in the theater.

Also, FYI, Aidan was almost "Tristan" had Allan not vetoed the name ("Kids will call him Triscuit"). If Mia was a boy, Tristan would have been it! I just love the name.
